- harmonisation of the standards outlined in the Cloud Controls Matrix (CCM)

Companies that adhere to **STAR** ([https://cloudsecurityalliance.org](https://cloudsecurityalliance.org/)) commit to **validate the security procedures of their Cloud offerings**, clearly showing their current and potential customers the security and compliance status and frameworks they adhere to.

This publicly accessible register allows customers to **assess their suppliers** to make the best purchasing decisions based on a **shared model** recognised as **best practice** on an international scale.
